Till Steinforth, a junior at Nebraska competing unattached and representing Germany, won the men's university/college decathlon with 8,053 points at the 114th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Steinforth, who won seven of 10 events, just missed his personal-best 8,064 points from last year's Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Indiana. He achieved a lifetime-best 193-7 (59.01m) in the javelin throw to help him become the first decathlete to surpass the 8,000-point mark at the Drake Relays since 1998.
