Tony Anania, a junior at Norwalk High in Iowa, won the boys 1,600 meters in a meet-record 4:06.54 at the 114th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Anania, making his debut at the Drake Relays, eclipsed the 2014 performance of Josh Evans from Linn-Mar, who ran 4:10.76. Anania also placed second in the 800 in 1:53.86, finished fifth in the 3,200 in 9:07.79 and anchor Norwalk to a sixth-place effort in the 1,600 medley relay in 3:34.22.
